Habitat Desert, hot, arid regions of the Sub-Sahara
Size 3 feet long and 150 pounds.
They are the largest tortoise of African mainland.
Diet Herbivorous
They feed on grass, cactus, flowers and vegetables. They graze and forage for hours everyday like cows and sheeps
Fun Facts In the wild in Africa, these tortoises often meet lions. Even lions cannot hurt them because the tough shell makes perfect protection. Lions only use their shells to grind their teeth.
