Distribution Central & South America
from Mexico to Brazil and Paraguay, as well as on the Caribbean Islands
Habitat Tropical rainforest.
They spend most of their time high in the forest canopy, about 50 feet above ground.

Diet

Herbivorous
eat mostly plants, especially leaves and fruits

Green Iguanas are arboreal, usually lives in trees, but would goes to land sometimes
 
Green Iguana juvenile.
 

Adult males have a special flap of skin called the dewlap. They can raise their dewlap to appear bigger than they really are, either to intimidate predators, or to impressive females
